Our Little Suitcases for Toddlers are Montessori Toy Inspired

The 'Montessori Method' is a popular educational philosophy developed by Maria Montessori, an Italian physician. The focus lies on hands-on learning, independence, offering nurturing environments which support child development in all main developmental stages.

Our suitcases are quality educational toys, Montessori inspired and thoughtfully designed with toddlers and preschoolers growth and learning and exploration at the forefront. Each element is crafted with a purpose, aiming to help children develop essential skills such as fine motor skills through purposeful play.

One of the most well-known Montessori principles is that toys are made from natural materials. Typical Montessori material are wooden toys that offer rich sensory experiences that connect little ones to the natural world. We chose FSC wood, cardboard and recycled felt. Using natural materials such as wood, instead of plastic toys allows the child to gain a better understanding of their world while stimulating their senses through weight, texture, size, and shape. Our ocean sea shapes (Ocean Lover Suitcase) are designed to encourage curiosity and for enhancing fine motor skills and tactile exploration and can be sorted and stacked in may ways.  Children and parents are drawn to touching our felt streets in the Car Lover Suitcase as they enjoy the feeling. Our suitcases are designed to avoid distraction and noise and encourage children to explore,  supporting focus and attention.

Montessori inspired toys are development toys, emphasising to master one skill at a time. Focusing on a single task encourages children to concentrate deeply, fostering independence and self-confidence without feeling overwhelmed by distractions. Many of our little suitcase owners have spent long periods through trial and error mastering, e.g., the 'car wash' and the 'car park lift' (Car Lover Suitcase) or matching the right shapes into the shape sorter box (Ocean Lover Suitcase).

If children receive immediate feedback on their efforts, it allows them to self-correct (without adult intervention)while independent play and exploration are encouraged. This process builds problem-solving abilities and confidence as children learn through their own discoveries.

Children learn best through clear, simple experiences. Montessori toys encourage open-ended play (open-ended toys) and are free from unnecessary details or distracting lights and sounds, which allow children to develop focus, a sense of order, and concentration.

Young children are naturally curious about the world around them and themes like cars and ocean animals always hold a fascination. Montessori toys leverage this fascination by using realistic elements, helping children better understand and engage with their environment.

Joy, fun and learning comes from making discoveries, a principle at the heart of our high-quality wooden elements within out Wonderful Suitcases. Our aim is to offer thoughtful educational toys for kids. Our suitcase toys are designed to practice skills, help children to develop fine motor skills and support creativity and learning. An the best part is that they are great travel toys where learning through play can happen anywhere anytime.

"The most important period of life is not the age of university studies, but the first one, the period from birth to age six. For that is the time when man’s intelligence itself is being formed.”
